its a very good way to get miles from AP over to BA or AA, in particular, from person a's AP account to a pooled esso account to person b's AA or BA account using an RBC Avion card.
it used to be very useful for buying HBC points and turning them into F seats on CX for around 2400 and J seats for about 1500. but that ship has long sailed.
