How long ago was this? It seems they enforce this rule sporadically? I know someone who got a good bonus on the platinum while holding the gold recently and then there's a big thread on here somewhere about someone who was denied the bonus after signing up for the platinum.
Do you think if I signed up over the phone and got an agent to confirm that I could receive a bonus on the Platinum by giving them my gold account number that I could use that if they tried to deny me the bonus (I'm paying the annual fee after all)? I'm really signing up for the bonus (MQMs) and want to see how the year goes before renewing. I just don't want to get caught with the card, the annual fee, and no bonus.
