Never stayed at the PC DT but walked by it a few times. Seems like a perfectly nice place. It's really about what you are looking to do. It's in the middle of the city and ok for walking around for some souvenir shopping or casinos. The bigger shopping malls, old town, and canal are all a taxi drive away (very cheap). I walked from a hotel near the DT to the mall and old town but you need to enjoy walking as it is a long way (it will be hot, humid, and probably rainy).
