The Finnair CEO brings the safety issue up and I think you are right, he is talking nonsense. His main reason for going all foreign cabin crew is customer service. The additional safety element is a bonus.

Perhaps the thread title should be changed to Finnair CEO thinks current Finnish speaking cabin crew aren't good enough and should be replaced by more foreign speaking crew who are not only better but as a bonus will improve safety.

This is an aviation professional speaking in those terms about 1500 of his current customer facing staff. Ok soon to be only 800.

I may well agree that a number of his current staff would be better off being replaced and I can say it in public but I'm not those employees' boss.
