If you are planning to return to the US with these you will not be allowed carry-on liquids from HKG-USA. Not sure about TPE-USA.

If you are coming to Asia and are bringing these for friends TPE is cheaper than HKG now IME. This applies for single malts. Sorry, I'm not sure about cognac prices.
