I seriously doubt that anybody would notice the 2 inch difference between a 3 inch recline and a 5 inch recline. Both numbers aren't even worthy of being described as " recline".
787 Y recline is 5". A330 recline is 4.5". Mainline 763 recline 4.5". 777 recline 5". 319/320/321 recline 4.5".
How is 5" not worthy of being called recline
3" is probably the most they can get away with when using 29" seats as to prevent complete claustrophobia.
The only aircraft to have more recline is the E90/75 at 6". And frankly if you have ever been fully reclined into rows 20-33, you'd wish they would reduce it.
