OP said price was less important than travel time and product. s/o smokes so a maximum of 14 hours travel time. YVR-FRA/MUC is 10 hours. YVR-YYZ-WAW-where ever will probably end up near 20 hours.
I was trying to suggest an itinerary in line with the OPs criteria. In my opinion, the LH seat, although not the best, I agree (depending on equipment used in Sept) doesn't outweigh the other factors of time and ease of travel.
I understand milage runs and trying out new hard products, but for others, ease of travel is worth a little less in terms of seat and money. If I'm trying to get more AQMs to qualify, all good, but sometimes you can't beat a nonstop flight.
I think OP has a lot of info and can probably make up their mind.
