The OSL I class fare rules allow a free stopover not exceeding 10 days. You would then be liable for APD for LHR-OSL which will add I think £26pp to the ticket price and possibly some other minor taxes/fees/charges.

Return LHR-OSL fares are usually very cheap, as are one way OSL-LHR fares. Plus you will earn avios/TP's for the extra flights.

I don't think BA is trying to attract UK passengers booking cheap one way tickets to Oslo and an ex-OSL sale fare and dropping the last segment. Rather BA is trying to attract Oslo passengers who would otherwise take a more direct flight on other carriers. But I could be wrong..
