First of all this hotel is close to Metro's Yellow Line (not the Orange Line). However, it is almost a 3/4 mile walk from this hotel to the Eisenhower Avenue Metro stop based on how the streets are laid out in this area. It is about a 20 -25 minute metro ride from the National mall to this metro stop.
Secondly, while this hotel offers free parking, it is not really near Old Town Alexandria, not in a great area, and its literally right next to I-95/495. That being said, there are a couple of chain restaurants, a movie theater, and a Cold Stone Creamery a block (Hoffman Center) or two from the Metro Station. So if you do decide to stay at the CY, there a some options nearby.
Personally, I would spring for parking and stay closer in.
Hope this helps.
