Definitely windows each. So much more space.
You will spend the whole holiday together, whereas for the few hours of flights you should enjoy the extra space and views that the window seats afford.
For dining, you can and should eat opposite each other with the smaller person in the buddy seat.
I'd say there's
much more space in the middle seats than the windows, certainly at the buddy seat and there's significantly more storage space too
It's a tough call though as the windows are certainly more private and you have the windows. I'd do day flight window, night flight middle. I'd also select row 3/4 in the middle too, I find being at the back of the cabin makes it feel more airy but YMMV
