Yes, but It is not SAS that needs convincing :-) It is UA or some other airline.

I have certainly seen the interpretation that the extra piece of luggage is on SAS metal only, and those are the rules to be followed throughout the ticket (if first flight is on SAS ticket on SAS metal)...
