I called about my two US Airways MC, annual fee for one was in October 2013, the other was in beginning of May 2014. Said that I wanted to close both accounts, one has the annual fee and I don't use either much given the merger with AA and my lifetime status there.

Waived fee on both cards (should appear as a credit in 3-5 days) and asked which card I use more. I told her the older one. She offered 10,000 miles for $3K spend in 90 days (August 30). Accepted.
