In my experience, it depends. I've been on flights delayed 3hrs that were appropriately recatered, and a morning transcon that was delayed until 3pm that wasn't recatered (there's nothing like eating breakfast at 5pm after wasting an entire day at the airport). The more in advance the delay is known the more likely recatering will occur.
Given you received the delay notification the evening prior, I'd imagine they would recater (and serve lunch) on your flight. Let us know how it turns out.
