Is there any way, esp for those passengers who can not use the priority lines at airports, to find out (before they go to the airport), the waiting times for check-in (for those who do not wish to use the kiosks), for security, and (for transborder flights) for US preclearance.

Would the reservations agent at AC know such info? Unfortunately, most of us can not get through AC agents at the airport (who are busy enough dealing with the passengers). Can we get through general airport information personnel on the phone, who might have such information. I do not believe that any information is on the airport or airline web site. Some airports have an airport radio station within the vicinity of the airport (including Ottawa - but I have never bothered to listen to it); I wonder if they provide such information.

I am bringing this up; because of the long lineups, in Toronto recently (was it yesterday, or the day before that?). I am not starting the thread to go over the reasons for the long line up - just wondering that if there is a long lineup, how can the average (nontier, non business class) passenger find out in advance, and plan accordingly?
