Sounds similar to my F LHR-JFK last month.
- At the front door upon checking my BP "you're down there at the front" (we were 1A/K on the 747)
- No one to take us to our seats, take our jackets, nothing. Approx 15 mins later, before pushback, an F/A finally made an appearance to offer us champagne.
- After take-off the F/A came to ask what we'd like for lunch. I asked if we could order later as we'd eaten plenty in the lounge and the reply "well you may as well order now as it will take me some time to prepare".
- After our first main course, she asked if we wanted dessert. I asked if we could actually sample one more of the mains before dessert. "You do realise it will take me half an hour though?".
- No top-ups throughout the flight. Had to go to the galley every time (I don't like pressing the call bell especially when the rest of the cabin was asleep).
- Twice when I did go to the galley there was a single F/A sat reading a book. Surely if all the other crew are attending to other cabins then the sole remaining one should be paying full attention to the F cabin?
Either way it was all quite underwhelming and it's already made me change my future Avios redemption ideas.
On a positive note, our return flight in CW had the crew that I expected to get in F! Absolutely spot on, almost like they could read my mind.
