The different "terminals" are actually one big building and share a common airside and landside. If your international flight is listed as departing from "Terminal B" it just means that you check-in at desks located on the "Terminal B" side of the building and then walk to immigration and security checks in "Terminal A" to actually depart.

1. No, you will not have to collect bags at JNB. You can stay airside by following the "International Connections" signs.
2. In the light of this (and indeed 2h20 should even be sufficient for landside connections) there is absolutely no need for any assistance to expedite your transit.
Cheetah, whilet I agree that if everything is on time there is no need for assistance this was our experience about 18 months ago. We were in jnb meeting g friends who were arriving on this same scenarion BA from LHR contnuing on to vic falls. The flight arrived late and we were at the via gate all the way across the airport waiting for them. We had the bid air services included in our trip and they met our friends at the gate and rushed them through the airport. The gate agent at the vfa gate were in touch with the transfer personnel and they arrived at the gate about 5 minutes before the flight was departing The bus to the plane was waiting and when we boarded the plane the pilot said we are ready to go I don't know what the holid up was . We only had a night in Vic Falls and we're then moving on to Botswana so the bid air service was invaluable as insurance which we needed. luggage did not make the flight and wasn't seen for a few days but did turn up. If you are on time, the bid air service also provides access to a lounge if needed. Not that we couldn't have done it, but we had arrived earlier in the morning on a non o e world flight and did not have our vfa boarding passes and the transfer desk was not yet open so they assisted with that. So ymm,
