i love my briggs & riley BRX19. it's internationally approved and semi-soft sided so it's uber-stuffable. i travel for a week to 10 days in it routinely, without problem -- it fits 3-4 pairs of pants and 5-7 shirts, a sweater, a pair of shoes and toiletries without challenge.

admittedly this isnt the best carryon for AS planes, but for my $$ it's the best all around carryon. tbh i rarely fly AS metal.
