I want to use my free night and get a second night on points. The HI is 35,000 points, IC 50,000. I'll have to transfer UR points for either option. I'm platinum IHG.

Both have the location I'm looking for, both have views. The free night rooms are basic rooms with city views. Would both hotels upgrade (space available, of course) to harbor views? The HI has a rooftop pool whereas the IC rooftop is for club-type reservations only (which I very much doubt I would be upgraded to from a basic room).

So, which is the better value, particularly assuming I don't get upgraded?
