just got here and unfortunately very disappointed. Have triggered a reasonable amount of business for this hotel and exchanged several emails with the hotel prior to arrival. One of my upfront requests was to be sure to be given a non-smoking room. Upon arrival, several staff running around in the lobby but nobody to take care of guests willing to check in. this is the stay that gets me to LT Platinum and no upgrade available, yet some colleagues with no status have been upgraded. Sure enough I end up in a smoking room which smells of smoke badly. so it seems to be a case of high stress/occupancy period and lack of process and coordination. It's late now but I let them know I am not happy and want to move tomorrow. Not a good first impression, will see what happens.
