In fact, this journey is what prompted me to register as thanks to my lurking on here I selected the economy bulkhead seats on check in and received a free upgrade to good WT+ seats in both directions. From a booking by 2 pax with no status in the cheapest of cheap fare buckets that quoted me £919 to upgrade to WT+ one way on the day before we flew, we were both amazed and grateful to manage this!
Hey Fluzz, welcome to Flyertalk. It's great to hear about your luck with op-ups. Wish you luck on your future flights too.

Was the 747 fitted with new WT+ or the old one? I have flown only the old one so far and I liked it, even when I did not have the bulk head seat (I am 6'4" and had plenty of leg room).
