I think I made a mistake and signed up for the 30000 mile bonus with the $1000 spend.

That may be a blessing in disguise, my high annual fee UA card provides trip insurance, if I get delayed I get reimbursed for out of pocket expenses for hotel and meals. So I'm considering using that card for my AA flights once I meet my minimum purchase.
