I've had good luck with citi card while traveling abroad. I call ahead to alert them. Had excellent results with them when we had an accident with a rental car in Italy and Switzerland. It was resolved promptly and they were very quick to send a check to reimburse us. On a recent trip to Morocco, somewhere somehow someone charged over $900 on our card that looked suspicious - they alerted us and removed the charge.
