I just bought a Travelpro FlightSpin2, and it also measures exactly 23" from the ground to the top of the handle, which is the highest hardpoint on the luggage.
I took it to the airport (SJC) and put it in the United sizer-- it fit *exactly* with the fabric top handle hanging out the side hole. I asked the person directing people to check-in-- her response was that the handle was no problem, and that the bag was perfect and that "nobody would even look at it sideways."
That said, maybe someone from Travelpro can answer-- what the hell *is* a "FlightSpin2" bag? It cannot be found *anywhere* on the Internet, nor on the Travelpro website. It ls the ONLY Travelpro bag I've ever found that will fit in the sizers. (every other 22" Travelpro bag is over 23 1/4 inches high, which is too tall to fit.)
I looked at SEVERAL different Travelpro bags-- it was MADDENING how many of them were 23 1/4" to 23 3/4" high-- that quarter of an inch is enough to prevent you from bringing the bag on the plane these days. Note that the actual stated limit is 22"-- but, as stated elsewhere on the forum, the sizers are actually 1" greater in all dimensions than the actual limit. If they crank this down to actually being 22" I, and I would guess most travelers, are gonna be in trouble.
Has anyone else heard of a "FlightSpin2" Travelpro bag?
