I hate that term "near miss"
who the hell came up with that phrase. Wouldnt "near collision" make more sense?

near miss means they almost missed colliding...no?
With that being said I wondered last year during the influx of travel whether or not the ATC staff at ANC was seasoned and versed enough to deal with such a high amount of air traffic. 8 months a year things are pretty nonchalant and the airport looks like MDT or MSN then from memorial to labor day the airport looks like concourse H and K at Ohare
