ok let me clarify this is an award booking for the following route: (2 pax)

lax-nrt (jl)
tpe-hkg-lax (cx)

If I booked them as a roundtrip award, would I be able to cancel the outbound segment and receive half the miles back while keeping the tpe-hkg-lax alive?

lax-nrt / tpe-hkg-lax (res 1 and 2 each pax with own res)

vs

lax-nrt (res 1 both pax)
tpe-hkg-lax (res 2 both pax)
