Ughhh another reason I left Gold Member and Hertz in general as have had awful service and issues for years everywhere, switched to Enterprise for personal/business about 3 years ago and used more and more (pry 90% now) and no problems, any little issue was handled fast. Neighbor got rid of his Gold Member as well for his business.
If only Enterprise or others had the TDi. I love diesel trucks/cars. Thought it'd be cool to have that on a trip with the mpg and range of the TDi. Almost always get a Cruze at enterprise if I don't upgrade or need something nicer/larger, but nobody has added the new Cruze diesel for fleet use.
Hertz Full size here around Ft Lauderdale is almost $600 for the period (and still no clue what the actual Green Traveler pricing would be as now I'm being told it could be more than full size ... lol), even Intermediate (Cruze) is just over $500 all said and done. Enterprise and others for Intermediate is about $370. Notice Hertz is always way higher, was in Cali a few months ago and checked and Hertz ran like $200+ more over others and the rental we got at Enterprise.
I would move on. The odds of finding a Jetta TDI in your stall, regardless of what you rent, what you request, etc. is very slim.
