I spoke to the CSD during the flight and she was apologetic but clearly out of her depth. CR compensated me with 120,000 avios for the disaster which was put into perspective by the return flight on a 777. That was what I am used to with Club world + and what am happy to accept is BA's best stab at a premium product.
If you see cabin crew in "hats"...be afraid...be very afraid.
To be fair, I have just come back from LAX in A380 F with an MF crew and was faultless. I had the taster menu which was interesting and some of the courses (mainly hot ones) quite good. All other flights in J the food has been good and distinct improvement on the usual 747 product.
The F suite on A380 is certainly better than the equivalent on the 777 and 747, bigger and more/better storage.
I certainly would not want someone who hasn't flown the A380 to be put off without trying it.
