Hmmm.....wonder if the rules are different for Indian visas in UK\US passports?

I recently had my UK passport renewed and it contained a 2 year business visa for India. When i checked with the visa centre in Birmingham they advised that I must have the visa transferred to my new passport (at a price of course) and would be refused entry without it, even if it was in my old passport.
