I don't rent cars very often, but when I do I research most all sites carefully. I've never paid more than $39.99/day for any type of car at any rental outlet (except in Europe). Right now I'm trying to find a car rental in Columbus, Ohio, for two days in July. Lowest rate I can find is approximately $59.99/day (plus "recovery" charges). What's going on? I'll take the bus before paying rates like this. Any suggestions? Any secret codes? Any sage advice?
