I am in agreement with previous advice, I would think that there is a better chance of a refund if you are not a "no show".

The FAQ state:

If you request a refund because you are voluntarily returning your ticket, you will receive a refund in accordance with the fare conditions. Taxes and charges, except for the Ticket Service Charge, are fully refundable provided that no part of the ticket has been used.
In the case of tickets which do not permit a refund of the fare price, the international/domestic surcharge is also non-refundable.
Should a refund be possible, there may be a corresponding charge for this depending on the type of fare booked.
And arguably by checking in, you might be "using" the ticket.
