IMO SAAver awards have gone the way of the dinosaur, they're just so impossible to get. Upgrades with miles are easier I think but still no guarantee, esp seeing how many failed SWUs there are here. I think AA is getting very aggressive with J/F pricing. Randomly DFW-HKG flights, J can be had for as little as 1K extra each way, which really gets you thinking - why chance the upgrade when just an extra grand will confirm it. Exactly what AA wants unfortunately.
