Jet Star Excess Baggage
I'm a long time, occasionally reader and frequent traveler. I think this is my first post. I have searched, but haven't been able to find anything about this and appreciate any help you can provide.
We're flying on JetStar from SIN to REP in December near the end of a 35 day trip including a 28 day cruise. All of our other travel is via business or first class allowing us to bring a significant amount of luggage for the multiple climates we'll visit.
I know we can purchase 20 kg as part of the Max Bundle and then purchase an additional 20kg for a reasonable price on Jetstar which seems to be the best option for us (direct flight, reasonable fares), 40kg of luggage.
We'll likely be 20 - 30 kg over the total between us, especially if they are stict regarding the carry on allowance.
What happens if we're over 40kg each at check-in? Will they refuse our luggage completely? Will they charge us exorbitant fee ($20/kg)?
I called and asked and was told I could talk to air Freight in Singapore to get the extra bags on the plane. So far it's been a challenge to find someone who can help, but I am still trying, so I thought I might ask here, and see if someone know.
I'd be happy to pre-purchase the extra baggage if it was possible.
Thanks again for your help in advance.
