Sadly, after seeing the YouTube video I actually saw the endgame of the scam first hand

Didn't want to get too close, and certainly wasn't about to try to video this, but it appeared that the two cops that showed up to (I assume) negotiate a lower payment (as has been documented elsewhere) were in on the scam

And yes, the victims were of Indian subcontinent area.
