Visited Bali back then in 2011, and stayed at Ayana Resort Bali, I would say it's Rock Bar is definitely one of the must go, magnificent ocean front view, nice ambience, etc. Non-hotel guest have to queue to go up, whereas hotel guest can beat the queue.

This is the view of the Rock Bar from the cable car.


If you come to Ayana, visiting Rock Bar is a must. You can enjoy the sunset and listen to the breeze from the sea~ Those online reviews were saying that you would have to go very early otherwise you will have to wait for the cable car for a long time because the cable car isn't very big. If there are too many people there, you can only stand under the sun and wait.

On the first day when I arrived at the Ayana, I decided to check out where the Rock Bar is. On the way I kept asking the staff where it is so that I could go straight to the bar rather than wasting time finding out the way myself.

Rock Bar's opening time is from 5pm to 1am. Before the clock even strikes 4, I dragged my husband and head straight to the Rock Bar. Ha! Because it was still very hot at 4 o'clock, there was no one there. We decided to take the cable car and have a look.

The cable car only can take four people at once and there is only one cable car.





After getting off the cable car, turn right-->The Rock Bar

Turn left-->it is the famous Ocean swimming pool

Can you see in the picture？the ocean swimming pool is just right in front.



It is so beautiful. We decided to swim here. Then we went back to the room to change into our swim suit.(Afar in the background of the picture, the path which extends into the sea is where they only serve one couple each day to have a romantic dinner.)



After changing, we came back to the cable car but there were already so many people waiting for the cable car. Ha! Don't worry! if you are hotel guest, you can go through quick channel. So we didn't have to queue to get on the cable car.

Now let me show you the view at the Rock Bar

We were taken to the highest view deck which was reserved for Ayana's hotel guest only I think. I don't know if non hotel guest can come up here.

The cliff is just below us. The waves knocking on the rocks make a huge sound.





Soon after we sat down, the waiter came to give us candals, napkins and crisps. The long cylinder beside me is the menu. We ordered some juice because alcohol is very expensive here.





17:15 The sun was scorching hot. The friendly waiter came to open the umbrella for us, how sweet.



I think they must have chosen their staff properly. They are all so slim.

One thing I have to mention is that the staff here are very friendly. Our waitress is a pretty lady here. This is her!



I told her that she is pretty. Then she gave me this rose as a gift!



After 20 minutes, our non-alcohol strawberry sorbet was here! Look! so yummy!



Thank you for the surprises! It will be my best memory here!



At 17:50 the sun started to set (The camera isn't good enough...the picture isn't as nice as the real view)





Before the sun was completely gone, we rushed to the ocean swimming pool.



There were towel next to the deck chair. You can dry yourself before sitting here.



Rock Bar is amazing. It is definitely worth coming back!
