I remember it well; 1988, BA IAH to LGW. I was 8 years old and my mom and I got the opportunity to travel to England for 2 weeks while my dad was on business. He sat up in business class while we were back in economy, although I did get to go sit with him for a little while. I still remember the bag of kids activities the FA gave me.

The best part was getting to visit the cockpit during the flight, I remember the captain showing me the on the radar that we were somewhere over Newfoundland. Something that is not really an option for kids anymore, and unlikely to change, I'm really glad I was able to do that
