Have you tried calling the AC# in HK? In most countries it's just AC agents who take care of AE bookings on behalf of AE, so you'd end up talking to the same person anyway.

However, I seem to recall a report that the HK office isn't the best office to call about AE stuff. Have you tried calling the Australian number?
