If you read one of the threads posted above, the supposed new IHG deals in Taiwan are now dead.
I agree with you guys though, it's such a pity that IHG has such limited presence in Taiwan, especially in Taipei. Starwood alone has 5 properties in Taipei, Shang, Hyatt are all represented in the city centre.
Only chains without a significant presence is IHG (only HI East Taipei), Marriott (opening 2015), Accor (only in Taoyuan), Hilton.
The local players are still very strong in Taipei (Landis, Howard, Ambassador, SanWant, Evergreen). It would be good to convert one of these local chains into one of the international brands.
