So, as I had suspected, sandwiches aren't free. Are the prices subsidized or normal? I'm struggling to understand the concept of a lounge that charges for items...
I only use AA to connect within the US, mainly via ORD and DFW. Where exactly is the flagship lounge at ORD? I've been to 2 at T3, there's a small one by G gates and a larger one by K gates but hardly what would be called flagship.
So, what do people use the AA lounges for? They're all very busy/noisy so doesn't look like much work would get done. I've seen some big screens to watch sports, etc. but for that may as well go to a sports bar.
No worries.
US airline lounges operate on a different basis than lounges in Europe and Asia, so their offerings are significantly different (read: lacking). On AA, only the four Flagship Lounges (LAX, ORD, JFK and LHR in the UK) offer anything resembling an upscale lounge experience.
Food items are from Sodexo, which operates a number of workplace and university dining rooms. More about Club food and beverage offerings
here; for more about the Sodexo "Amora" offerings see
this news release.
To paraphrase:
When hungry and you drool, then you feel like a fool,
That's Amora!
If it's good when you order it hot, or it comes from a pot,
You're in luck.
If don't taste so good like you want, all we can say is
"so sorry signore".
Scuzza me, but you see, back in the A Club,
It's Amora!
Apologies to Dean Martin...
