I happen to love spas, and have spent a handful of nights in them when I'm feeling too good to leave (e.g. the "oxygen room" at Morely's in Beijing is a sublime place to slumber). In the PRC at least, the entry fee alone usually includes overnight access... and this is almost always FAR cheaper than a hotel room. Furthermore, the upcharge from communal sleeping areas to private rooms rarely costs more than Y400.

Of course, all of these places offer "special" services, but I've never been pressured to partake in such.
