I believe this tied to the T4 QF departures when they were boarding from AA's gates. As far as I know all QF flights have now moved to TBIT. Cannot confirm if the "upgraded" fare in the AC was removed once QF flights left the terminal.
I was at the LAX lounge last Sunday around 9 PM. There was a tray of sandwiches (I think the BNE or MEL flight still operates out of T4, the tray lasted just a few minutes... looked like a National Geographic show with all the hyenas attacking the sandwiches hehe
