What is the current AS policy surrounding the transfer of miles of a deceased family member? I've been unable to find a solid answer online, with one source saying that miles would be transferred to a spouse after sending in a death certificate, and the other saying that it depends on who you talk to at AS, some will not do a transfer.
I realize that we could pay to transfer miles, but the cost for the hundreds of thousands of miles I'm dealing with would be quite high.
Basically I'd like a guarantee (or as close as I can get) that AS would transfer miles to a surviving spouse and/or children when supplied with a death certificate. Otherwise, I'll begin the process of paying to transfer miles.
