I have a fondness for this hotel.....it was in 2006 the place I stayed locally when dating my soon-to-be husband. I have always been treated well here, and the lounge at the top "yacht club" makes it a fantastic place to stay. I initially picked it because it was near the airport; and the shuttle is excellent. BUT the views on either side are wonderful; and when you do get a suite it is worth it - roomy and great view; it is a big hotel; many rooms so don't expect a penthouse. Ice nearby; good munchies at happy hour; the BEST espresso machine and a marvelous spread of cold cuts, hb eggs, cereals breads pastries and juices in the top of the tower overlooking all of SD marina and downtown - LOVELY! Take a stroll to either Tom Ham's or to C Level / Prime for over-the-top dining and views of the city that are drop dead romantic. They recognize status, often upgrade (unless really packed - and they can be) I love this place.
