Drama in FT! I am sure the system can be improved with right approach (i.e., dialogue and raising awareness to the problem). Otherwise, how are hotels supposed to know that tailored accommodations need to be made for the LGBT community, or that a problem exists period!
But Kudos to you for speaking up. Too bad your elevator friend didn't do the same.
