OP: I think you should contact CX, be succinct (imho, your post was, but perhaps beeven more to the point, highlighting what the biggest grouse is).

My folks aren't quite 75 yet, but i would be really annoyed in this case and be firm, but polite. Perhaps pointless, but I might add a line that it wouldnt be wrong for CX to send an apology note (your dad probably doesn't care for compensation, but this might matter).

Glad your dad (seemingly) got through all fine- I routinely ask for special assistance for my mom when she is travelling alone - just so that things get highlighted if there's an issue.
Thanks, i will do just that on his behalf... i have to admit once he was in yvr and able to contact him, i was very angry at him (due to being so worried about being stranded in sfo of course). He just laughed it off and said it wasnt worth the stress as it will just cause mental and emotional fatigue and he said he didnt want to start his vacation with all the stress.

Im actually am the one more stressed out as i really couldnt sleep during that time as i was afraid for him while he was in sfo...i mean im only in my early 30's and i cant even handle 36 hours of flying and being in the airport without proper sleep.
