Agree that compensation for the inconvenience is needed, especially the overnight connection at SFO
Thats exactly why i was so frustrated with him and worried too....i knew the plane was late departing from ceb to hkg. So i called him while still in ceb and i said go to lounge..email me, or turn your mobile on so i can call you through viber, text, etc...

He said not to worry, as cx will take care of him while in hkg. While in hkg, apparently he was already given the printed boarding passes to sfo and then to yvr the next day. Cx agents said that they tried booking him a hotel reservation in sfo but hotels were 'booked'.

My dad isnt frequent flyer savvy (he used to be when he was younger) as the rest of us flyertalkers. So he didnt know there was another direct flight later that night and like i said, he is 75...hard for him to demand whats proper as it's just too mentally, emotionally, physically draining for him....

He just took it as it is....im the one whos more frustrated and upset with cathay on how they treated my dad, at his age being in the airport/plane for over 36 hours without proper sleep.
