The bag was so heavy it literally tore her bowel and intestines. She was also denied an insurance claim and is on unpaid sick leave.
If that's what happened it's just appalling that an employer would leave an employee in this situation. If what was posted above was accurate re employees having to help if a bag is not too heavy, the situation here may well have been that at the point the FA realized the bag was too heavy then it was too late and the damage was already done... For the airline to leave their FA hanging is just outrageous. I guess that employee is also left wondering why they bother to pay their union dues....
