I always give it the lift test. Lift it a little and if its light I'll put it up for someone. If its too heavy I don't. I have no problem helping elderly folks with their bags if they're light. Interesting that I just read an email about one of our f/as that is out of work after helping someone with a full arm cast remove his roller board from the overhead. The bag was so heavy it literally tore her bowel and intestines. She was also denied an insurance claim and is on unpaid sick leave.
