To reiterate what I've said in the past, regardless of official policy, I received two hotels last year for IRROPS that stranded me overnight at connection points, as E35K.

I also had one offered as S100K, but declined, because I was in Toronto, and had plenty of places to sleep.

I don't really care what their official policy is, because I find them really good at dealing with these situations. Much better than AA ripping up my (paid domestic) F boarding pass (needed for insurance claim), giving me a Y BP for the next day, and laughing when I asked about a hotel.
