Thanks for that. I see on the redemptions tab there is a -50k, +50k, -50k, +50k. I guess that's how the rewards certificates are supposed to work. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

My guess is there will be an "enhancement" to these next year, they will let you redeem them online but they will have a category 6 or 7 limit.

As a side note, I have the Marriott weekend certificate as well and they are even worse. It's only valid for the first 6 months after it's issued (use it before July) and only valid on their cat 5 hotels and below. Well just about every downtown Marriott is a cat 6+, so you pretty much have to use it on an interstate hotel. Really Marriott is strange that they will have a Cat 5 hotel that is 200 dollars a night and a Cat 7 hotel that is 150 a night.
