Is this a connection? GIG-IGU should not take more than 2hrs. Having a connection through GRU or CGH would enhance your chances of a delay.
Otherwise it's feasible if you stick to the Brazilian side (which can be visited in a couple of hours).

I concur partially: Paraty or Ilha Grande will take a good 4:30 in transit, which would be a day trip from hell. In the case of Ilha Grande, that would still get you no further than Abraao (which is hardly worth the visit) and from there at least an hour to Lopes Mendes.
MAO itself is a dump, so unless you have a specific reason to go there, I would advise you to spend your time in Rio, and then, as recommended by VidaNaPraia, head to Paraty (at least a one-nighter).
